Campground Host Programs

NSW National Parks Campground Host program is a perfect opportunity to experience camping in our National Parks while providing a valuable service to the public. If you have a passion for the outdoors and volunteering, then becoming a Campground Host might be for you! Applications are open for the Easter 2012 Campground Host program in the following parks from 6 April - 22 April, 2012:

Hill End Historic Site - Glendora & Village
Warrumbungles National Park - Blackman
Weddin National Park - Ben Halls
Border Ranges National Park - Sheepstation Creek & Forest Tops
Bungonia National Park - Bungonia
Kosciusko National Park - Currango Homestead & Blue Water Holes

You’ll be provided with training and a free campsite at a participating national park. A compulsory training workshop will be held the weekend of 2-4 March 2012, at Bents Basin State Conservation Area where you’ll get to meet other participating Campground Hosts. Camping facilities at Bents Basin will be provided to you at no cost. The Easter 2012 program requires Campground Hosts to stay a minimum of one week (7 days) or two weeks (14 days) between 6 April and 22 April 2012. You can nominate the dates of your stay during the Easter period. Travel vouchers will be available to cover the cost of travel to and from your assigned campground.

Applicants must be self-motivated, enjoy working with people, and have excellent communication skills. Campground hosts should have a reasonable level of fitness and health, as some campsites are in remote settings. If you are interested in becoming a Campground Host, please visit the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Campground Host webpage and fill out the online application form. In order to apply, you’ll need to be over 18, upload a copy of your resume, provide a National Police Check, and sign a Prohibited Employment Declaration form.
