Mt Wood Back Road Tag-along Tour

Join Discovery Rangers in a vehicle tag-along tour and travel from Tibooburra to the historic Mount Wood Station via an old road not usually open to the public. View the expanse of this vast landscape and watch it change as we cross creeks and approach the Mount Wood Hills.

If Mount Wood Homestead is not occupied, we will call in for a tour. Participants are welcome to continue on their own to the Outdoor Pastoral Museum and back to Tibooburra via the main road. Please bring snacks and a packed lunch (refer to information, safe travel section). An interest in history and a sense of adventure. Participating vehicles need to be high clearance and preferably 4WD.

Level of Difficulty Descriptions

Easy: Suitable for all ages, but take care with children. Medium: Some steps or steep areas, suitable for people who walk occasionally. Hard:Steep sections, for people who walk regularly. Visitors with heart or breathing difficulties should not attempt these walks.
